Update to the AmigaOS 4 Pre-Release
*

Hyperion Entertainment has officially released an update to the AmigaOS 4 Pre-release. Although users have experienced some problems, many users have been impressed by the improvements made by Hyperion.

The update includes a range of enhancements such as kernel-Level Altivec support, improved 68k FPU emulation, USB support for input devices, support for onboard serial and parallel hardware, printer support, and Driver support for the SiI0680 IDE adaptor (including UDMA support). More importantly, the Picasso96/graphics system and MUI are now fully PowerPC-native.

Unfortunately due to the scope of the improvements made the update comes in the form of a full ISO image (33 MB) which needs to be burned on CD-R(W) by the user and is intended to replace the original Amiga OS 4.0 Developer Pre-release CD for installation and rescue purposes. Users have been reminded not to distribute the pre-release to any third parties as it is for personal use only.
