OpenTTD is an open source clone of the well-known and highly rated Microprose game Transport Tycoon Deluxe. It is not only modeled after the original game created by Chris Sawyer for the developers have also dramatically enhanced the game with many new features.

In OpenTTD you are responsible for a cities' transport system which you must keep running if the city is to survive. For example, it is vital that coal reaches the power station and that livestock and grain reach the factory or the citizens of the city will suffer due to your failure. By taking charge of the roads, rail, buses, trucks, and more you should hopefully raise enough revenue to make you a real tycoon.

Enhanced features include new units such as mammoth trains, larger stations, multi-headed trains, and new higher and longer bridges. You can even bribe the town authority if they get in your way although it can be expensive.

A version of OpenTTD has been compiled for the classic Amiga platform but it requires the data files from the original Windows version of "Transport Tycoon Deluxe". Steffen Haeuser has also produced a version of the game for the AmigaOne, which will be available soon.
