It was originally believed that only those people who took advantage of the Earlybird Offer, which ended a few months ago, would receive a copy of the AmigaOS 4.0 Pre-release. However, in the past week there have been reports from various Amiga news sites that AmigaOS 4.0 Pre-release will come bundled with newly sold Amiga systems, when the pre-release becomes available.
Although no confirmation has come from Eyetech, the story has been confirmed by Hyperion who told Amiga-News.de that, “the AmigaOne computers will be sold with a pre-release CD of AmigaOS 4”. This exciting development is likely to encourage more users to purchase next generation Amiga systems, especially as the pre-release will be available in the next few weeks.
In unrelated news, various members of the Hyperion team will be present at an Amiga event in Essen, Germany on the 15th of May. Such figures expected to be there include Hans Jörg and Thomas Frieden, Steffen Haeuser, and Timothy De Groote. They will demonstrate AmigaOS 4 and the Micro AmigaOne.
