AmigaOne users are in for a treat as Nova Design have released a light version of their image editing and special effects package ImageFX, while Thilo Köhler has released a new beta version of his MIDI/audio sequencer HD-REC.

ImageFX Light has been uploaded to the OS4 Depot giving AmigaOne users their first chance to try this program on the AmigaOS 4 Pre-release. If you're impressed by this image editing package then you can order an upgrade from ImageFX Light to ImageFX 4.5 Studio for Euro 99 from Computer City. One user who believes this is good deal is M. Johnson who said on amiga.org, “for the everyday sort of tasks it's very convenient. It gets the job done, it's available from within my favourite OS and it's got more features than I'll ever need for the simpler kinds of tasks”.

Development of Thilo Köhler's powerful MIDI/audio sequencer is progressing well with the latest beta just released. This beta includes improvements such as better AmigaOS4 compatibility and AHI bugfixes. The completed package will take full advantage of the AHI system for audio and the CAMD system for MIDI input and output. So you can be sure that your hardware is supported if there is a driver for those systems. Features include 16 bit / 11.025-96.0 kHz audio recording and processing not limited by RAM, audio real-time effects, Bars & Pipes style notator for MIDI elements, Audiomaster style editor for audio elements, powerful plug-in system for MIDI/audio applications like softsynths or patch editors, and it supports AIFF, WAV, MAUD, RAW, CDDA, 8SVX, MP3 and MIDI files.
