On the 24th and 25th of July the AmiWest show will take place at Sacramento, California in the United States. Retailers and user groups will be present including Mr Hardware who might be demonstrating AmigaOS 4 running on an MicroA1, and selling AmigaOne systems.
This yearly event traditionally draws Amiga fans from across the country and this year is no exception as it has been revealed that Garry Hare, CEO of KMOS will attend. He will present the banquet address and so may reveal more about the company and their plans for the AmigaOS. According to a recent statement, “this unique technology is currently being adapted for the next generation of mobile communication chip sets, ushering in new forms of mobile communication”. Talks between Hyperion, Eyetech and KMOS have also take place over the past few months with plans still being worked on.
In related news, Garry Hare will be a keynote speaker at Summer Breakout, the second annual Multi-Association Networking Event in Petaluma, CA. Garry's speech, entitled 'A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Future', will examine the potential effect of broad, wireless communication access on commercial, social, and political issues. The emphasis will be on the impact of technology rather than on the technology itself. This event will take place on the 14th of July.
