Hyperion Entertainment released Freespace: The Great War, a space-combat simulator in December of 2001. Since its release it has won many fans especially in Germany where a bunch of Amiga Freespace fans have set up a fan page.
The fans behind the website such as Ricco Clemens have spent considerable time putting together new multiplayer mission packs and individual multiplayer missions. They have also prepared theme-based mods, which include Babylon 5, Star Trek, and Star Wars.
Freespace fans should certainly visit this website, although unfortunately the website is in German only. Perhaps in the near future an English version might be made.
