The organisers of Back 2 The Roots have opened a new website in tribute to the life of Fredric Norton Fish III, aka Fred Fish. The archive on the website offers his work (licensed by himself) and his co-operative projects (so far co-licensed by Danny Amor, Leslie Dietz, Eric Schwartz, Mark Stanley) for free download.

Fred Fish was best known for his distribution system, which helped authors to spread their software to a wider range of users, and help users to have access to a wider range of software. In the years 1986 to 1994 Fred released 1000 Fish Disks, choosing every month the best content which he had received from the coders.

The death of Fred Fish in April of this year at the age of 54 was a shock to the Amiga community. But it would seem that his life will not be forgotten by Amiga users as work will be preserved for everyone to enjoy.
