Cloanto have released a new edition of Amiga Forever, an emulation package which enables users to use Amiga software on other platforms. The new edition can be bought direct from Cloanto or through their reseller partners.

Amiga Forever 2006 includes 200 MB of new Amiga games, demo scene productions and hundreds of enhancements. For instance, there is enhanced compatibility with popular Amiga add-ons such as AmiKit, AmigaSYS and AROS for Amiga, while introducing third-party ROMs, such as Logica's Dialoga diagnostic system. Even if you don't like their selection of games you could always download software from websites like Amiga Land and AMI Sector One.

The premium edition of Amiga Forever 2006 also has videos which provide a unique insight into the history of computers and multimedia, exposing the relationship between Commodore, the Amiga, an increasingly mature PC market, and the ups and downs of the video games industry. Brian Bagnall, author of new book, On the Edge: the Spectacular Rise and Fall of Commodore, said, “This DVD set has some incredible footage from the early Amiga days. I really enjoyed watching the launch of the Amiga and interviews with the creator of the Amiga, Jay Miner”.

Amiga Forever 2006 is available in an Online Edition (compact download for Windows), a Plus Edition (downloadable cross-platform CD ISO image) and a Premium Edition (CD plus two video DVDs). The Plus Edition and Premium Edition include more preinstalled games and demos, additional items of historical interest and several hours of videos.
